Worship & Ministries

Come worship with us in many ways

Write the names and brief, paragraph-long descriptions of your church’s ministries. You may also add a link to external websites or additional internal pages related to your church’s ministries.

The Sharing in Gods World Team pursues outreach efforts that include partnering with community programs that support our church’s global mission. Outreach ministries include mission trips such as Back Bay Mission in MS and Shannondale a UCC camp in mid-Missouri.

At St. Johns, our Committees & Teams are groups of people who help lead and support the ministries, programs, and everyday life of our church. Each team focuses on a specific area — like worship, outreach, education, hospitality, building care, or fellowship — and works together to make sure these parts of our church thrive.

These groups are where ideas become action. They help plan events, support ministries, care for our building, guide spiritual growth, and strengthen our connection to the community. Commissions and teams are the hands and feet of our church’s mission.

The Technology Team helps St. Johns stay connected, organized, and moving forward. This team supports our website, digital tools, and other technology needs that keep our ministries running smoothly and help us reach people both inside and outside the church.

If you enjoy problem‑solving, creativity, or working behind the scenes to support the mission of the church, this is a great place to serve. No advanced tech skills required — just a willingness to learn and help.

The Property Commission is made up of a group of members who take on the task of looking after our church buildings.  They identify building maintenance needs and report those needs to the church council for action.  They coordinate with vendors and volunteers related to property work items.  The property commission works with the ‘J-Team’, which is a group of volunteers that are driven to do maintenance and jobs that can be done in-house.  If you are interested in joining this commission or have a special skill that our buildings would benefit from, we would appreciate your participation on property and/or the J-Team.

The Safety & Security Team works behind the scenes to keep our church family protected through clear emergency procedures, strong physical security measures like cameras and controlled access, and reliable cybersecurity practices that safeguard our digital systems—ensuring St. Johns remains a safe, welcoming place for worship and community.

Old St, Johns Cemetery, located beside the church, is the final resting place for many of the “saints” of St. Johns. The first burial was in 1839. New St. Johns Cemetery, located at Lemay Ferry and Forder Roads was established in 1914. It is a non-sectarian cemetery, and lots are available.
